Tiramisù (literally PICK-ME-UP!) is one of the most popular spoon-desserts up and down all of Italy, so we can’t leave our version of the dish out! Are you ready to make this delicious sweet? Follow Mom Gabri’s recipe and you won’t be disappointed!
Ingredients
5 eggs (room temperature)
500 g mascarpone cheese
circa 10 tbls sugar
2 tbls rum or another liquor such as Marsala or Kahlua (optional)
Pavesini biscuits
coffee (if possible moka), as necessary
cocoa, as necessary
Preparation
1. First, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Slowly fold the sugar into the yolks and whip in a blender.
2. Separately beat the egg whites until stiff and add this to the yolk mixture. Whip together to get a smooth, frothy cream. This mixture should be whipped to double its original volume.
3. Add the mascarpone.
4. Now chill the cream for several minutes in the fridge.
5. Open 5 or 6 packets of Pavesini biscuits, you will see how many will fit as you go. It’s now time to make your exquisite tiramisù!
6. Soak the biscuits in the sugared coffee and liquor (optional) mixture. Then carry on to form the first layer of biscuits: place them side by side in a rectangular baking tin or dish and then cover with a uniform layer of mascarpone. Proceed with another layer of biscuits and cover this with mascarpone.
7. Sprinkle the tiramisù with cocoa for the final touch, immediately before serving 😉
AND… BUON APPETITO!
