In Senigallia’s dialect, “pedossa” in the phrase “stagg’ a la p’dossa” means to take shelter from the wind. This perfectly expresses our Villa as a protected and sheltered place of refuge, referencing to the linguistic reality of its roots in the Marche region.
Villa Pedossa has been wisely renovated. The original structure dates back to the end of the 1700s and was acquired by Grandfather Ezio Frattesi in 1949. The property is comprised of 11 hectares.
Villa Pedossa today is the fruit of Ezio Frattesi’s hard work and commitment which was continued by his son Alessandro, known as Sandro, who carried on the restoration of the building maintaining the original structure and characteristics of the typical farmhouses of the Marche region, by recuperating original building materials and maintaining the bare brick walls, the original wooden beams, and the terracotta floors down to the most minute details, in both the villa as well as the surrounding garden.
Sandro Frattesi has always wholeheartedly dedicated his energies to what has been for the family their own “country escape”, tending the garden, the olive grove and the orchard, just as today he is firmly committed to his guests’ well-being and is delighted to share his ‘little jewel’ with others so that they, too, may take pleasure in it.
As in the past, each year Sandro and the family still join together for the seasonal olive picking for their delicious olive oil which you will have the pleasure of tasting at Villa Pedossa.
The place where the Frattesi family always passed their Sundays and holidays with friends in the country playing “bocce”, relaxing and chatting on the lawn is now a charming Villa to host and warm the cockles of your heart during your longed for holiday, “Your Country Escape”!
Sandro, Gabriella, Alessandra and Stefano look forward to your stay and will be more than glad to offer their advice and help in making your holiday here in the beautiful Marche unforgettable.
